Project Management is at the core of what we do. Our senior people are Prince2 certified. We use accepted tools such as Microsoft Project to support our Project Management process, and we have developed the SunPeople Project Management Method as the basis for our Project Management approach.
Our Project Management Method is based on:
- The Prince2 Project Management Method
- Industry accepted best practice
- A pragmatic approach to project management, including a philosophy of "Just Enough Project Management."
We firmly believe that the heart of good project management is communication. Internal communication is achieved through regular progress reviews between the developers and the project manager. Communication with customers is achieved through sharing the project plans, and weekly progress reports and update calls. The weekly progress report contains a list of completed tasks, the tasks planned for the coming week, and a list of any outstanding issues. To help keep communications simple, we use a basic RAG (Red, Amber, Green) designation in our reports for each stage of the project. This means you can easily see, at a glance, how your project is progressing.
The typical project life cycle for a project is as follows:
- Pre-Project activity
- Project Initiation Stage
- Project Planning Stage
- Project Delivery Stage
- Project Closing Stage
Each of these stages is covered by the Project Management Method with defined input and outputs and stage initiation and closure processes.
